Granite is classic and offers interest in depth of color. Certain granites, such as in the photo at the left, have what is referred to as "movement." In addition to its other qualities, granite is extremely heat-resistant.

Marble is timeless, elegant, and unparalleled in its ability to maintain cool temperatures. Other stones such as limestone, travertine, and onyx are prized for their individuality and stunning beauty.

Quartz is often mistaken for granite, but requires little or no maintenance. Now there are even more choices in engineered stone, such as engineered marble.

Solid surfaces are custom-made with through-body color and no seams, thus permitting ease of maintenance, greater variety in combining colors, ability to form curves and other shapes.

Today's "green" choices offer more variety than ever. Countertops made of recycled materials may be something you wish to consider.
